IMPROVING THE ECONOMIC SECURITY OF WOMEN: TIME TO ACT Report of the Standing Committee on the Status of Women (June 2007)
In May 2006, the Standing Committee on the Status of Women adopted a motion to undertake a study of the economic security of senior women. The Committee invited representatives from the Department of Human Resources and Social Development Canada, the National Council of Welfare and the National Advisory Council on Aging in June 2006, and resumed its study in February 2007 by hearing from a variety of concerned community-based witnesses.
